✏️ We'd like to learn how you are using premade scenarios in your creations. To help our team improve the feature, please drop us a message in the help desk chat!
___________
What is a premade scenario?
A "premade scenario" or "built-in scenario" is a special asset bundle that combines objects, experiential elements, and pre-scripted canvases to create a fully featured scenario that can be placed in a space like a standalone object.
You can find them in the collections panel inside the premade scenarios folder, and drag and drop them into your space like any other asset. All premade scenarios are fully editable after being dropped in a space, which gives you the freedom to use them as the building blocks for your own scenarios.
Premade scenarios
FirepitA pile of wooden cases lit up into a comforting crackling fire. This scenario pairs particle effects and spatial sound assets.
|
|
NimbusCloudy skies with rain pouring down on the ground. This scenario pairs simple assets and particles edited to achieve a rainy cloud look. |
|
Glow shapesPress the button to make each shape glow after a chime sound. This scenario introduces a simple interaction-based script that triggers a sequential glow effect. |
|
NPC SamplerShowcasing the three states of the humanoid: idle, walking, and running. This scenario shows how to script some of the animated assets included in your collections. |
|
Drone flightA drone takes flight as it detects a user in front of it. This scenario showcases a more advanced script that is user-triggered with an experiential asset. |
|
Dino chargePress the button to make the triceratops armature roar, walk towards you, roar again, and fall on the ground. This scenario shows the user how they can manage multiple animations, sounds, and paths to design a narrative-driven scenario. |
Premade Scenarios and Voice Assist [BETA]
Our app supports voice activation for the built-in scenarios. Simply speak into the Voice Assist menu the designated utterances for each scenario, such as "drop a firepit asset", "add a cloud", or "fly like a drone", and the corresponding scenario will be instantiated in your virtual environment.
To see a full list of utterances, see the Voice Assist help article.
Best Practices
- Getting started with visual scripting? Premade scenarios are a great way to get comfortable using our visual scripting tool. Going from examples of simple to more complex scripting, you can always duplicate the canvas assets for your needs.
- Don't know where to start with your scenario? Use premade scenarios as templates. Instantiate a premade scenario and reuse the canvas assets that come with it to build your own scenario.
- Thinking about how to take visual scripting to the next level? Combine premade scenarios and experiment with new scripts to build entirely new flows and narratives.
__________
⚠️ Team note: as of now, scenarios can't be manipulated as a group after dropping them into a space. We are working on a solution for this. If you want to manipulate the premade scenario as a group, instantiate a new scenario or use the transform tool to adjust the assets individually.
