Overview
Introducing : StellarX Version 1.
This brand new release brings major improvements for a more seamless and secure experience. The new Space Hub enables users to manage uploaded cloud spaces directly from the web portal. Multi-account management ensures that users only see the spaces they create or download. Controllers have also been redesigned for a more intuitive and user-friendly experience. More updates are on the way.
New Features
Space Hub
This feature is available to all users, but uploading spaces requires a Pro license.
You can now manage your uploaded spaces directly from the Web Portal!
To see the spaces in your Cloud Spaces tab, upload the spaces through the information panel of any of your spaces.
Once you have clicked : Upload to cloud, the space will appear in the Cloud spaces tab after a refresh.
Spaces created and uploaded to the cloud before this update will already be available in the Cloud Spaces tab.
On the Space Hub, you can now:
- Remove an uploaded space from the cloud
- Create a shared code
- Delete a shared code
- Copy a shared code
- Sort Spaces by Name, Date Created, Last Updated and Size
Multi-Account Management
Previously, if different users accessed StellarX on the same device, all spaces in the "My Space" and "Shared" sections were visible to anyone logging in on that device. To improve privacy and flexibility, we are introducing multi-account management.
What’s Changing?
- Users will now only see the spaces they create or download on the current device.
- Space files stored in My Documents/StellarX/Saves will be transferred to backend folders.
Important Notice
If you have previously saved space files for future use, ensure they are placed in the Saves folder before updating to avoid issues.
If you’ve already updated and still have space files you need to use, please contact us directly here.
This change paves the way for future features, stay tuned for more to come!
Controllers
The controllers have been redesigned for a more intuitive experience. Avatar hands have been removed and were replaced by Meta Quest controllers design.
The buttons and joystick are now visible and will display animations showing what is being pressed, hovered over or moved.
Joystick and Triggers
Joystick will follow the user's movements.
B and Y buttons
If users hover over the buttons, they will light up green.
If users press the buttons, they will light up even more.
Oculus Button (Only with the StellarX Meta Quest Version)
If the Oculus button is pressed it will light up green.
Anchor Teleport Point
A new UI asset has been added to help guide users to teleport to specific locations. This asset is especially helpful for new users or those who struggle with VR movements.
How Does It Work ?
- Open the UI collection of the Asset library
- Place an Anchor Point Asset exactly where you want a user to teleport
- Add a visual cue over of the Anchor Point, as this asset becomes invisible in Play mode ( Tip : Add the Teleport Point over )
Result
When users aim to teleport, they'll notice that as they get near an anchor point, the teleport arrow disappears and the cursor automatically centered to the anchor point, making the action feel guided and effortless.
Improvements
New Previews
Previews now feature a refreshed visual style and an updated creation process. When the Save button is pressed, the preview will automatically capture a mirror of what is in front of the user, making it easier to generate accurate and relevant thumbnails.
UI Asset Teleport Access
The ability to teleport on UI assets (such as Arrow, Teleport Point and Grab Icon) has been removed, as these assets do not have colliders and could never actually be teleported on. This change helps eliminate confusion around a feature that was non-functional for those assets.
Custom Avatars
To ensure consistency with displaying only user’s controllers, Meta Avatars have also been removed from multiplayer sessions.
In order to maintain player visibility, we've reintroduced our own custom avatars, allowing you to continue seeing other players in the multiplayer sessions.
